Inter-House Science Quiz

Science is knowledge about the structure and behavior of the natural and physical world, based on facts that you can prove. To make students confident in science stream numerous competitions are held at Ashok Hall Girls’ Residential School, Majkhali. This year science quiz was held on April 4, 2021 based on the theme of preventive measures against the covis-19. This event was conducted by classes IX-XII and all the three houses enthusiastically participated in the event. There was a cut throat competition among the participants. The atmosphere was filled with thrill and enthusiasm. Though all the participants had put in their best efforts, but at the end Green House secured first place followed by Red House and Yellow House for the second and third positions respectively.
Inter-House English Speech
Inter-house English Speech Presentation “Speech has power. Words do not fade. What starts out as a sound, ends in a deed.” -Abraham Joshua Heschel
Over the years, Ashok Hall Girls' Residential School has hosted speech competitions through which the students have been able to sharpen their skills of public speaking. Continuing the practice, even when life is restricted to the internet, an Inter-house English Speech Presentation for Seniors (Classes IX to XII) was held on 26th June, 2021. To make it more interesting, the topics for the presentation, which included “Over and Improper Use of Natural Resources”, “Impacts of Globalization” and “Social Impacts of Covid-19”, were centered around the present issues the world is facing. Two participants from each house had to submit a pre-recorded video speaking on any of the given three topics for a maximum of four minutes. While all the participants made sure to extend their research and come up with a gripping presentation, the winners were as follows: Shubhangi Kandpal of Class X from Red House bagged the first position followed by Disha Lohani of Class XI from Yellow House and Mahika Khandelwal of Class X from Green House, respectively.
Inter-House English Poetry Elocution

Poetry is language at its most distilled and most powerful form. To build up the confidence of poetry recitation in students, an Inter – House English Poetry Elocution Competition was organized on 03 April, 2021. It helped the students in improving their vocabulary and intonation. The theme of the poetry recitation competition was ‘Humour’. The competition was conducted for the Junior Wing from classes VI to VIII. Each of the three houses, Green, Red and Yellow were allowed to send only two students to represent them. The event was hosted by Lavanya Mahara and Abhilasha Negi of class XII. The first position was secured by Anusha Dubey of class VIII from Yellow House. The second position was achieved by Laamiha Fatima Khan of class VI from Green House and the third position was bagged by Malvika Mahara of class VI from Red House. Overall, Green House stood first followed by Yellow House and Red House. Although winning and losing are part of every competition, the endeavor of each house member was clearly evident. Each house left no stone unturned to make this competition a huge success. All the poems were very hilarious. It was indeed a tough competition!
Inter House Hindi One Act Play

Inter-House Hindi One Act Play was organised on 10th April, 2021. "To play is to act out and be willful, exultant and committed, as if one is assured of one's prospects." Hindi one act play was held on 10th April, 2021. It was an open category Inter House event. All the three houses- Red, Green and Yellow participated in the event enthusiastically to give a tough competition to the rivals. Red House had chosen the Theme 'Aman Ka Paigam', Green House 'Girl Child Educational: Beti Bachao Beti Padho' and Yellow House had chosen the theme 'Aaj Ki Mahabharata'. After a close competition Yellow House bagged the first position followed by Red House and Green House for the second and third positions respectively.
