March, 2018 -Jheel Kshreen (VIII)

The month of March was very exciting for the Hallites. It was full of fun-filled events. The first event of the month was the Economics Seminar. It was a grand event based on PowerPoint presentations of research work. In the event the first position was bagged by the Yellow House followed by the Green House and the Red House in the second and third positions respectively.

The next event was an Inter House Hindi Speech and Spell Bee Competition held on the 24th. In the Hindi Speech Competition the First position was secured by Indrakshi Sarkar of Green House followed by Sristi Mishra of Yellow House and Gayatri Sabina Bhatt again of Green House for the second and third positions respectively. In the Spell Bee Competition there was a tie between Yellow House and Red House for the first position while Green House stood second.

The last event of the month was Fun with Mathematics, also known as Math Trail. It was held on 31st March. Though not an Inter House Competition, it was an approach to make learning Mathematics enjoyable. There were different stalls set by different classes. Classes IV, V and VI have showcased the tricks of Vedic Mathematics for fastest calculation, classes VII and VIII displayed their talent on commercial mathematics, classes IX and X have made clinometer and calculated unknown heights and distances while classes XI and XII designed an artificial bank and showcased the banking process.


April, 2018 -Anvesha Dubey (VIII)

The Hallites had an enthusiastic and eventful April this year. The first event of the month that took place on the 7th was the Science Quiz Competition in which the students from classes 9 to 12 enthusiastically participated. The first position was bagged by the Yellow House followed by the Red House and the Green House for the second and the third positions respectively.

Next event of the month was the Hindi Elocution Competition where the Junior students got an opportunity to showcase their talent. In this competition the first position was secured by Anvesha Dubey of Red House, the second position by Shubhangi Kandpal of Red House and the third position by Gahna Bisht of Red House again.

We had a lot of fun watching the programmes as they were not only entertaining as well as informative.


May, 2018 -Diva Agarwal (XI)

This month welcomed the grade 11s back to school. The flurry of events included an Inter House Table Tennis Competition, the Swarsangam Workshops, and Assessments Test and of course, the announcements of the Board results for the ISC and ICSE, 2018.

The Inter House Table Tennis Competition was held on the 2nd. Five students from each house were chosen in the senior category and 4 students were chosen from each house from the Junior Category.

The results were-

1st position - Hansika Jaiswal from Yellow House
2nd position - Roopdeep Kaur Mangat from Green House
Senior category
1st position- Shruti Choudhary from Yellow House.
2nd position - Inakshi Agarwal from Red House.
Our Swarsangam workshops were also held from the 12th to 19th May.

Amidst the enthusiasm and excitement of the Swarsangam workshops, on the 14th of May, the board results were declared! Anandarupa Dhar in the CSE examination and Simran Singh in the ISC Examination emerged Kumaon region toppers.

The end of the month saw that start of the practices for the Abhyudaya. Selected students also participated in IPSC drama festival held in our brother school, GD Birla Memorial School, Ranikhet.

Our Karate students participated in the 3rd National Martial Art Games on 26th and 27th of May held at Delhi. After the 3rd Nationals Martial Art Games Nandani Patel, Harshita Chaudhary, Shivani Arya, Neha Shaw and Jheel Kshirin were selected for the international level. The month ended with the school carrying out the preparations for Abhyudaya, 2018.


June, 2018 -Vrinda Agarwwal (IX)

With the arrival of the festive season, the students of Ashok Hall Girls’ Residential School welcomed the advent of joy and happiness. The first event was an Inter House Speech and Elocution Competition. The categories of the event were:

Junior category- Elocution Competition
Sub-Junior category – Speech Competition based on analysis of an Anti-War poem
Senior category – Speech Competition based on Critical Analysis of the Shakespearean Themes.


In the Junior category we had an unexpected tie between Jheel Kshirin, Shanvi Shreya and Anusha Dubey for the first position followed by Shubhangi Kandpal for the second position.
In the Sub-Junior category we had Garima Singh for the first position followed by Yangini Rautela for the second position. In the Senior category we had Shrutakeerti Sinha bagging the first position followed by Sunaina Garimella for the second position.

The flow of the festivity continued with the Eid Celebration on the 16th day of the month of Ramazaan. Although it was a holiday, we had the Eid special assembly followed by games.

The Parents Teacher Meet for classes 4 to 8 was held on the 23rd. The students showcased their talent by organizing a creative programme “Language is Fun” for the parents the students created a unique combination of German and Sanskrit and portrayed the cultures of the regions the languages belonged to.

On the 30th the Hallites celebrated an event “Unity in Diversity”. The students of the three houses showcased glimpses of the cultures of Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal. Each house skillfully depicted a song, a play and a dance performance of their allotted states. Yellow House bagged the first position followed by Red house for the second and Green House for the third position.
